  • Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that presents significant diagnostic challenges due to its complex symptoms, which often overlap with other cognitive disorders. Early and accurate diagnosis is essential for timely interventions and improved patient outcomes. Recently, the Alzheimer’s Association released updated, evidence-based guidelines for the Diagnostic Evaluation, Testing, Counseling, and Disclosure of Suspected Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (DETeCD-ADRD). This marks the first revision since 2001 for specialists and introduces guidelines specifically for primary care physicians, aiming to enhance the evaluation and diagnosis of cognitive decline.
