  • hsCRP emerges as a key predictor of cardiovascular risk beyond LDL-C

The 2025 ACC guidance highlights high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) as a practical marker of residual vascular inflammation that can refine cardiovascular risk prediction beyond low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) in both primary and secondary prevention. With <1mg/L, 1-3mg/L, and >3mg/L thresholds for risk stratification, hsCRP testing may enable earlier, more targeted risk reduction.
